One of those is the solar energy source with outstanding efficiency in terms of economic aspect and life broght by such energy.
Rooftop solar power solution making use of clean energy and saving electricity costs for enterprises and households encouraged to use by the Government shall become an inevitable development opportunity in Vietnam in the future. Catching up with such development opportunity, the Board of Directors of Southern Gas Trading Joint Stock Company (Gas South) has approved the policy of investment in installation of two rooftop solar power systems at: Western Branch (Can Tho City) and Binh Khi Branch (Nhon Trach, Dong Nai) to maximize efficiency from solar energy source, save production costs and practically contribute to environmental protection.

After a period of urgent construction, in December 2020 the project has completed on schedule and put into use with actually-installed capacity of 720 Kwp/system in Can Tho City and 996 Kwp/system in Dong Nai, respectively. Rightly then, the work has put into commercial operation, in addition to self-supply electricity used in production and business at two branches, the Company also sold and transferred residual electricity to EVN power companies.

For Gas South, installation of rooftop solar power system not only brings direct economic benefits (save electricity - reduce operatiional costs, increase revenue from selling unused electricity) but also offers other indirect benefits; It may mention to the use of clean energy in production and business, contributing to increasing brand value, increasing competitiveness in the market and opening up many opportunities in international markets that increasingly require the enterprises to use green energy in product making progress.
The completed and put-into-operation project has proved the proactiveness, flexibility and correct and timely decision of the Company’s Board of Directors in the face of general development trend of the economy: use of environmental friendly energy. The project success not only brings practical economic benefits to the development of Gas South but also contributes to affirming the “green” and sustainable motto of the Company: energy from nature - friendly to the environment.
