Inauguration of 26 New CNG Buses on Route 32 (Mien Tay Bus Station – Nga Tu Ga Bus Station)
According to Mr. Trần Chí Trung, Director of the Center for Public Passenger Transport Management and Operation in Ho Chi Minh City, there are currently nearly 300 CNG buses operating in the city. With an investment program for 1,680 new buses, the city plans to continue focusing on CNG buses in the coming years to gradually replace around 3,000 existing diesel buses. This program mainly uses private investment; however, HCMC also implements policies to support transport units in switching to clean-fuel buses, contributing to environmental protection.
In collaboration with the HCMC Department of Transport, PV Gas South provides CNG for the entire bus system in Ho Chi Minh City.
The gradual replacement of traditional fossil fuels with CNG is increasingly common. CNG buses reduce emissions by 20% CO₂, 75% NOx, nearly 65% CO, and over 60% HC, while also saving 30–40% of fuel costs.
