On June 21, 2016, at the headquarters of PetroVietnam Gas South, a cooperation agreement signing ceremony took place between PetroVietnam Gas South JSC and PVGazprom NGV Co., Ltd., focusing on promoting the use of natural gas in the transportation sector across Vietnam.
PVGazprom NGV Co., Ltd., established on October 15, 2015 in Ho Chi Minh City, has a charter capital of 200 billion VND and is a joint venture with the following ownership structure:
- PetroVietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) – holding 29% of the charter capital;
- Gazprom International Projects B.V. (Russian Federation) – holding 35.5%;
- Gazprom Engine Fuel LLC (Russian Federation) – holding 35.5%.
Through this agreement, the two companies aim to jointly develop and expand the application of natural gas (CNG and LNG) as a clean and efficient fuel for the transportation industry — initially focusing on Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, and subsequently extending across Vietnam.
The cooperation represents a strategic step forward in promoting environmentally friendly energy solutions, contributing to reducing emissions, enhancing fuel efficiency, and supporting the government’s policies on sustainable development and energy diversification.
