Meanwhile, based on the average import price of A92 gasoline over the past 20 days, the landed cost of imported gasoline at Saigon Port is only VND 9,308 per liter. After adding taxes, fees, and the price stabilization fund, each liter of A92 gasoline could yield a profit of about VND 830, assuming that the VND 1,000 debt repayment to the State budget is not deducted. In contrast, enterprises are currently losing about VND 400 per liter on DO (diesel oil).
Several fuel distributors in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai reported that current gasoline and oil commission rates vary widely depending on the company, ranging from VND 800 to 1,100 per liter. The ongoing commission race to secure distribution networks has caused many enterprises to “forget” to lower retail prices for consumers.
