PV Gas South Successfully Organizes 4th Trade Union Congress

On August 18, 2017, at the 272 Conference Center, 272 Võ Thị Sáu Street, Ward 7, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City, the Trade Union of PV Gas South (PVGas South) successfully held its 4th Congress of the Grassroots Trade Union, term 2017–2022. The Congress aimed to evaluate the implementation of the resolutions of the 2012–2017 term, set directions for the upcoming term, and elect the Trade Union Executive Committee for 2017–2022.

The Congress was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the Executive Committee of Vietnam Oil & Gas Trade Union, Chairman of PV Gas Trade Union, and Mr. Đỗ Tấn – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board, along with representatives of the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Supervisory Board, Management Board, and especially 120 distinguished delegates representing nearly 1,000 trade union members of the Company.

The Trade Union Executive Committee reported on the activities of the 3rd Congress (2012–2017), reviewed lessons learned, and proposed the directions for the 4th Congress (2017–2022). The Congress unanimously elected the 4th-term Executive Committee of 11 members and 30 delegates to attend the Congress of PV Gas Corporation Trade Union.

At the Congress, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Chairman of PV Gas Corporation Trade Union and Mr. Đỗ Tấn – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board commended the Company Trade Union for its outstanding performance in management, leadership, employee welfare, and trade union activities. They noted the significant contributions of labor movements, initiatives, and production improvements in supporting the Company’s development. They also urged the 4th-term Executive Committee to continue promoting solidarity, democracy, innovation, and creativity to further enhance trade union activities, meeting the expectations of members and employees, and contributing to the sustainable development of the Company and PV Gas Corporation.

To recognize achievements, the PV Gas Corporation Trade Union awarded the title “Outstanding Comprehensive Collective 2012–2017” to PV Gas South Trade Union. The Executive Committee also honored individuals with excellent achievements in trade union activities and labor movements during 2012–2017.

At the Congress, Mr. Hoàng Minh Tuân launched labor and production emulation movements, promoting the Petrovietnam Gas brand with the slogan: “Every employee is a brand ambassador of Petrovietnam Gas”. He emphasized applying technology in production, such as developing the “Call Gas” App, leveraging the Company’s official Fanpage, and professionalizing each product and service via dedicated microsites.

Additionally, the Executive Committee called on delegates to donate to support people affected by natural disasters and floods in Northern Mountains and Midland regions, raising VND 20,400,000. The donation campaign continues to be promoted company-wide.
