On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (27/7/1947 – 27/7/2019), on July 26–27, 2019, the Party Committee, Board of Directors, Executive Committee of the Trade Union – Youth Union of the Company and its subsidiaries laid wreaths, offered incense, and paid tribute to heroic martyrs at cemeteries and memorial sites in the areas where the Company operates. This was an expression of deep gratitude to the nation’s outstanding sons who sacrificed their blood and lives for the cause of national liberation, reunification, independence, freedom, and the happiness of the people.
In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, the Company’s leaders, together with representatives of the Trade Union and Youth Union, respectfully offered incense and laid wreaths bearing the words “Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs” at martyrs’ cemeteries.
Following the memorial ceremonies were activities to visit and present gifts to policy-benefited families. VTGas Branch presented 20 gifts to families in Đại Phước commune – Đồng Nai; the Eastern Branch presented 26 gifts in its local area; Bình Khí Branch delivered 150 gifts in Phước An commune, Nhơn Trạch district; and the Central Branch offered 20 gifts in Bình Thuận commune, Bình Sơn district, Quảng Ngãi province.
At the same time, the Trade Union – Youth Union of the Central Branch in Gia Lai successfully organized a social program titled “Lighting the Flame, Warming the Heart” in Ia Piơr commune – Chư Prông – Gia Lai. The program donated 5 bicycles, 40 schoolbags to underprivileged students, 150 gifts to poor households, and 13 gifts to policy-benefited families. The activity received special attention from local ethnic minority communities and the local authorities.
Continuing this chain of activities, on July 28, the Youth Union of the Eastern Branch collaborated with Minh Thu Charity Kitchen to cook and distribute 400 meals, bread, and milk to pediatric patients at Children’s Hospital 1 – Ho Chi Minh City. With the spirit of sharing and compassion – “a morsel when hungry is worth a feast when full” – this charitable activity has been regularly maintained every quarter by the Eastern Branch Youth Union, aiming to support disadvantaged families and bring encouragement to young patients in overcoming illness.
All of these humanitarian activities have been organized annually by the Company’s leadership in response to the movement of “paying gratitude,” honoring the tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source” and “the healthy leaf covers the torn one.” At the same time, these activities also serve as practical lessons on gratitude and responsibility toward war invalids, martyrs’ families, and people who have contributed to the revolution, while reflecting PV Gas South’s enduring spirit of responsibility and community sharing – values passed down from generation to generation.
