In September, PV Gas South officially launched the use of protective plastic nets for 12kg LPG cylinders, initially applied in coastal areas such as Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Binh Dinh, and several Southwestern provinces.
This is one of PV Gas South’s newly implemented initiatives to support fishermen using 12kg LPG cylinders on fishing vessels. Previously, without the protective nets, cylinders were often heavily corroded by seawater and subjected to constant impacts during transport and use. This not only peeled off the paint layer, reducing cylinder lifespan, but also risked generating sparks that could lead to fires and explosions, causing fear and safety concerns among fishermen. To address this issue, PV Gas South has introduced protective plastic nets to enhance safety and peace of mind for fishermen using LPG in their daily lives at sea.

Currently, most offshore fishing vessels rely on gas stoves for cooking. However, safety in gas usage onboard is still often neglected, leading to high risks of fire and explosion that could cause severe damage to property and lives. On average, each vessel carries 4–5 LPG cylinders (12kg) per trip. Cylinders are usually exposed to sunlight, stoves and cylinders are not properly arranged or separated from engine areas, many boats lack fire extinguishers, and several cylinders are rusty with worn-out hoses that easily leak. Most accidents occur because fishermen pay little attention to proper maintenance and careless usage. Without correct handling and protection, LPG cylinders can become “time bombs” on board.

Fishermen often tie multiple reserve gas cylinders together in "clusters" for use throughout their offshore journeys. These cylinders are left exposed on the ship’s cabin under sun and rain, with some becoming rusted due to prolonged contact with seawater
To minimize fire and explosion risks on fishing vessels, from 16/09/2017, PV Gas South officially provided protective plastic nets for 12kg LPG cylinders, first applied in Vung Tau, Nha Trang, Binh Dinh, and selected Southwestern coastal areas.
The protective plastic nets help safeguard the paint coating, reduce impact damage to the cylinders, prevent sparks, and improve safety for fishermen.
By applying this solution, PV Gas South aims to give fishermen greater confidence and peace of mind when cooking with LPG onboard, enabling them to focus on their offshore operations.

The protective plastic mesh for gas cylinders provided by PVGas South helps fishermen feel more secure in their daily use of gas for cooking, giving them peace of mind to continue their livelihoods at sea.
With its commitment to consumer safety, in addition to continuously improving product quality and reputation, PV Gas South will keep seeking and introducing practical safety solutions to alleviate public concerns over LPG usage—whether on land or at sea.
