According to the plan, the Dung Quat Refinery was expected to operate at 100% capacity today, but this could not be achieved as operations had to be suspended due to a valve failure at the Residue Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) unit and a shortage of crude oil for blending since August 18, 2009.
Currently, the Technip contractor consortium is working with Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Company to address these issues. Recently, the Prime Minister approved the revised total investment capital for the Dung Quat Refinery Project at over USD 3 billion (an increase of nearly USD 553 million).
As of now, the Dung Quat Refinery has supplied nearly 240,000 tons of products to the domestic market, including almost 81,000 tons of A92 gasoline, over 83,200 tons of diesel oil (DO), nearly 24,000 tons of kerosene, and nearly 31,400 tons of high-quality LPG that meets stringent standards.
