On January 21, in Hanoi, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) organized a commendation ceremony for 70 outstanding grassroots trade union chairpersons in the work of collective labor agreements (CLA) and labor dialogue in 2017.
Attending the ceremony were Comrade Tran Dai Quang – Member of the Politburo, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Comrade Bui Van Cuong – Member of the Central Committee, Chairman of VGCL, along with representatives of VGCL leadership, central ministries and agencies, chairpersons of provincial and municipal labor federations, and 70 grassroots trade union chairpersons – exemplary individuals representing nearly 50,000 grassroots trade union chairpersons in the enterprise sector honored today.
At this commendation conference, the PetroVietnam Trade Union was honored for one grassroots trade union chairperson, Comrade Hoang Minh Tuan, Chairperson of the Grassroots Trade Union of PetroVietnam Southern Gas Joint Stock Company, under the Trade Union of PetroVietnam Gas Corporation.
The honored individuals are role models of grassroots trade union chairpersons, demonstrating enthusiasm, responsibility, perseverance through difficulties, and even the willingness to sacrifice personal interests to protect and pursue the rights and benefits of employees, particularly through successful collective bargaining, signing CLAs with favorable terms for employees, and effectively implementing these agreements. They also organize dialogue activities well, contributing to harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
In his speech at the ceremony, President Tran Dai Quang affirmed that the 70 chairpersons being commended are shining examples of responsibility, courage, and intelligence of the generations of Vietnamese Trade Union officials. They have accompanied workers, farmers, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and the entire nation in building and defending the country. These individuals are like fresh flowers in the garden of good people and deeds, offered to the beloved Party, celebrating the 70th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s call for patriotic emulation and the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
