The proposed suspension aims to conduct technical inspections and finalize the production line to ensure safe and stable operations in compliance with contractual requirements.
However, at this point, no suspension of a unit or the entire refinery for one to two weeks, as reported by some foreign media outlets, has taken place.
According to Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), the decision on whether to temporarily suspend the Dung Quat Refinery for inspection is still under consideration.
PetroVietnam stated that under the EPC contract, Technip—the general contractor—is fully responsible during the trial operation period. The refinery will only be accepted and handed over once equipment specifications and product quality indicators meet the approved design and contractual standards.
