“Departure — with hope of return, not despair. Departure — while two young children look up and softly ask: ‘Dad, when will you be back?’ But their father’s heart has already stopped beating.” That is the heartbreaking story of Mr. Nguyen Minh Duy – an employee of VT Gas, a member unit of KMN – who sadly passed away, leaving behind two small children who now cry for their father every day.
In response to this tragedy, the KMN Company Trade Union initiated a fundraising campaign to support Mr. Duy’s family. We were deeply moved by the generous contributions from our company’s leadership and colleagues, many of whom gave despite facing difficulties of their own.
On the morning of October 15, 2020, the Trade Union Executive Board personally handed over more than 90 million VND to Mr. Duy’s family. While the amount may not be large, it symbolizes the spirit of mutual support and solidarity — “the good leaves protect the worn-out ones” — that defines the KMN workforce. This contribution also carries a heartfelt message from our leadership and the Trade Union to all KMN employees: “No matter the circumstances, compassion will always spread. And we believe that those who receive help today, with hearts full of gratitude, will one day reach out to lift up others in their time of need.”
