Mid-Autumn Festival — a season of mooncakes, lanterns, and festive trays — is a cherished time every child eagerly awaits. Yet, in many corners of our country, the dream of celebrating under the full moon with Sister Hang and Uncle Cuoi remains a distant hope for many underprivileged children. These are the little ones who face hardship, lacking both material support and emotional warmth.
With the desire to share and ease the burdens of these children, on September 14, 2016, the Trade Union of the PV Gas South Operation Division organized a charity visit to Mai Ân Shelter (Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City).
Mai Ân Shelter is home to 38 children in heartbreaking circumstances. Some were abandoned at birth in hospitals, others are orphans or children with intellectual disabilities and no one to turn to. They are lovingly cared for by the Sisters of the Lovers of the Holy Cross, a charitable religious order. During the visit, the charity group also expressed deep gratitude to the Sisters for their devotion, time, and heartfelt love for these less fortunate lives.
The team members offered warm visits and handed out many meaningful and practical gifts to the children at Mai Ân Shelter, with the hope of bringing them a fuller and warmer Mid-Autumn Festival.
The pure eyes, innocent smiles, and emotional goodbyes of the children left a lasting impression on everyone in the group. As they bid farewell, the Trade Union members of PV Gas South encouraged the children to stay united, keep smiling, and always believe in a brighter future.
