Tet (Lunar New Year) is a time for families to reunite and gather in warmth to welcome the new year together. When speaking of Tet, people often think of cozy family moments and togetherness. However, there are still many unfortunate lives — elderly people living alone, with no relatives or families — who face the new year in solitude. On the morning of January 23, 2017, the Company’s Trade Union visited and extended Tet greetings to elderly residents at Dieu Phap Pagoda in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City. The company prepared 19 gift boxes containing sugar, food, and other essential items, which were delivered directly to 33 elderly individuals. Though small, these gifts were given with the hope of easing their difficulties and bringing a warmer Tet.
The team members visited each room to ask about the seniors’ health, offer encouragement, and deliver cakes and cereals. On behalf of the entire company, they extended Tet wishes and handed out lucky money envelopes to warm the hearts of the elderly during the upcoming new year. The handshakes, the emotional expressions, and heartfelt blessings from the elderly were a great source of motivation for all company employees, inspiring more meaningful activities in the future.
After the gift-giving ceremony, a representative of Dieu Phap Pagoda expressed deep gratitude to the company’s leadership and staff for taking time to share their kindness and help bring a warmer Tet to the pagoda, giving the elderly joy and comfort.
