According to official statistics, in June, Vietnam exported nearly 1.062 million tons of crude oil with a total value of USD 573.6 million — a decrease of 19.7% in volume and 1% in value compared to the previous month. However, it represented a 2.7% increase in volume and a 46.4% decline in value year-on-year.
In June, as global crude oil prices reached their highest level since the beginning of the year — exceeding USD 70 per barrel — Vietnam’s crude oil exports also benefited. The average export price rose by USD 120 per ton (up 23.2%) compared to May, reaching USD 540.2 per ton.
During the first 15 days of July, the average crude oil export price to international markets increased by 21.8% compared to the first 15 days of June, but was still 14% lower than the average export price in June, standing at USD 464 per ton.
In terms of markets, Vietnam’s crude oil exports to Japan surged in June. However, exports to other markets such as Australia and Singapore declined sharply in both volume and value compared to May and the same period last year.
